About the show

Based on folklore and authentic sources, Cumbrian Songs & Stories takes the audience on a tour of the mountains, rivers and coast with tales of lakeland life, history and amazing occurrences. From ancient kings and pet lions to cheeky artists stealing Scafell Pike’s peak, the show features storytelling, poetry and songs performed unaccompanied (as the shepherds prefer) or with guitar, ukulele, concertina or Chinese banjo.

Suitable for all ages and many types of venue, it can also be tailored to different areas of Cumbria. Shows can be arranged to last between 30 minutes and 1 hour with up to 4 performances per day.

Usually performed without any amplification, the venue does not need a PRS license as the music is either out of copyright or original.

"Very entertaining and a fun evening, love a good sing-song, informative."

Sue, HF Holiday guest, Derwent Bank

"Steve came over at short notice a couple of weeks ago to entertain myself and family on a Sunday morning in our self catering cottage in Ambleside. I had planned it as a surprise and although initially the three hungover family members didn't know what was going on they were soon singing along with the rest of us, even my little grandson was given a part with a shaker. A great time divided between stories, poems and sing songs. Would highly recommend and affordable for all. Thankyou Steve looking forward to seeing you again."
